Hello, and welcome to my blog. You can thank or blame John Sonmez for this. I signed up for his email course and this is the assignment for Lesson 5. I hope to focus on Brownfield SW development in the .NET and C# area, since I have a lot of experience in that area, and I love fixing things. For example, not too long ago co-worker casually mentioned, that the heavy duty stapler in our office, was not working. She knew me well enough to know that I could not help myself from figuring out what was wrong with it and fixing it. My favorite TV show is This Old House. I love it, seeing an old house demoed down to the bare studs, and brought back to life, by skilled craftsmen. It’s the same with SW. It’s not that I can’t create a brand new app out of nothing but an idea, but I think I’m better at improving what’s already there.
I hate to date myself but I’ve been at this a long time. I started out programming in assembly, moved to C in embedded systems, C on Unix and VAX systems with Oracle databases, a little VB, a little Java, C++ on Windows, C# and .NET, and currently I am working on OpenSpan and Salesforce projects.
Of course since this is my blog, I reserve the right post about whatever peaks my interest, and hopefully it will be interesting to a few other developers out there.
Thanks for looking.
